If there is something we like as much or more than reading, it is playing. All kinds of games, whether card, board or action toys. And that also includes books to play, especially if they are from the San Pablo publishing house, which knows a lot about creating books that are also games.
Remember our review of “Build Your Own Dinosaur Museum”?
Well, from that same collection there are two more books, Museum of Science and Museum of History.
And today we want to show you one of them, as fun as the Dinosaur Museum was in its day, but yes, something more complex to put together.
Build your own science museum.
It seems that now children are overprotected, to prevent them from getting hurt, staining, catching the slightest cold or running any kind of danger, no matter how small. But that prevents them from playing sports, exercising, exploring, playing, having fun and also learning. That is why the protagonists of this story claim their right to be wrong. We’ll see who wins this game.
This book of mobile models has two uses: on the one hand, all the information it houses in its pages regarding certain sections of science and on the other, mobile models. That’s why it’s a perfect candidate for the “books to play” category.
As with the previous one that we already put together some time ago, on the back cover we have the drop-down with the dies and the instructions to assemble the models that go on each subsequent page.
It does not have any complications, since it comes very well pre-cut, numbered, and distinguished in colors for each model.
Of the 8 scenes that we will see, 5 have models that we will help to complete:
• The age of steam. A summary of this era in which machines began to appear in industry in the well-known “industrial revolution”. On this page we will have to assemble a steam engine.
• The computer age. The origin of the first computers, radio, telephones or the web. Nothing to do with what we know now.
•Aviation. From the famous wings with which Da Vinci tried to fly to the first planes we know today. Do you know other older means of air transport? On this page we will put together a model of Wright’s Flyer.
• Planet earth. One of my son’s favorite parts, our planet. A small summary by rocks and minerals, weather, plants or global warming.
• Space exploration. Telescopes, rockets and space vehicles. Do you know any of them?. Learn a little more about our space forays and assemble the model of the Mars Rover Curiosity.
• Electricity and forces. Who invented the light bulb?, What do you know about the electricity of the past?. Today we could not live without it, but formerly it was a scarce commodity that began its era and its reign. Electrical circuits, magnets, gravity and related inventions occupy this double page.
• The human body. The most complex machine of all, or so they say. Surely you all know its operation and characteristics, but it does not hurt to review and also, also touches model of our body on this page.
•Robotics. Robots are tremendously useful in different fields, and have evolved very quickly to adapt to new times and our needs. We have robots of all kinds and anywhere. On this page we will also have to assemble a small model of a robotic arm.
Fun models and suitable texts.
The book is perfect for children from 6/7 years old, although this time Noah (10) has had to ask for help with two models, the steam engine and the Mars Rovers.
It is not complicated to put them all together step by step, but these are a little more complex at some point, so it is convenient to give them a hand.
In the book of dinosaurs, on the other hand, they were all very simple to assemble and did not need help.
As a tip, I was placing zeal under the pages, on the inside where we placed the tabs, so that they did not move and it was easier to fit them into the book.
