2 years ago a book fell into my hands that, although it was intended for my 8-year-old son, managed to conquer me.
Living as we live in the middle of nature and very close to a magical forest, that book that told us about elves, witches, objects and magical places and that invited us to fill its pages with everything we were discovering or creating did not leave us indifferent.
I’m talking about Create magic with your children, the first book I knew about Belén Argaya and with which I knew that everything she does, that is pure magic. A book capable of connecting parents and children with a mission: to discover and create magic.
Belén is already an expert in creating readings that children and adults love in which it includes its touch of mystery, magic and adventure.
Today it’s time to talk about one of its latest novelties, the first volume of the Guardians saga: The weak point of the hot bloods.

Guardians Saga, volume I.
The weak point of the hot bloods is the first volume of the Guardians saga that arrived as a novelty in October of last year. It is a book with a story that has all the ingredients to catch the youngest audience and also some adults who enjoy this type of reading: strange creatures, adventures, magic, mysteries of the future earth …
The book has 140 pages with a striking plot and fast pace that make you want to read it at once. In addition, the story is divided into short chapters that do not beat around the bush or bore at any time, it is an agile and lethargic read.
Numanyú is one of the protagonists of the story, he is not the only one, but the first one we know. It all starts on a land that we do not know now because it has been almost two thousand years since the axis of the earth changed and caused nothing to be the same.
In that new land there are strange creatures, new worlds, dangers, adventures and a figure feared by all: the hotbloods.
Numanyú together with his faithful friend Cacophonous proposes to find the weak point of the hot bloods to be able to end them and well, nothing goes as he expected.
On their journey different inconveniences happen one after another that make them lose time, but also discover secrets that help them in their search, find other characters that become allies, save lives and souls and end up becoming guardians, an honor.
Whether or not they find the weak spot of the hotbloods or what they do in the end… it is something that you will have to discover by reading the first volume of the Guardians saga and those who come after.
This first book of the Guardians saga has as protagonists varied characters and very different from each other.
Throughout history we see how they are gaining importance and maturing to become all of them key parts for development, I would not say that on even one, in this book there are no fillers. I like that about the style of Bethlehem, it goes to the point without beating around the bush or putting more pages that visually make you see a book twice as thick, but sometimes with weak stories or that may have been told in half the space.
The structure of the story is divided into short chapters without number, but with a subtitle accompanied by an illustration that slightly anticipates what happens next. Each chapter has between 6 and 10 pages easy to read and assimilate.
The ending arrives with a plot twist included and with a threat that the story continues… something we love.
Who will like the Guardians saga?
To my son, without a doubt, yes. In addition, it starts strong by telling how the creatures that surely were always under the surface arise… something he has always defended as a reality he firmly believes in. And it is that Noah is a vernian from head to toe.
Of course, this child loves monsters no matter how bad they are, and he always finds an excuse for his behavior and considers that everyone has redemption, so far from starting out fearing the hotbloods, he empathizes with them from the first pages and is delighted with how the story and the final twist goes.
I believe that any child who likes to read and likes adventures with mystery, strange creatures and magic will love it. In addition, it is a book that reads quickly and is perfectly understood, so it is suitable for any age from 7/8 years.
When my son read it, he reminded him of some of his favorite movies: Fantastic Beasts, How to Train Your Dragon, Luca, Journey to the Center of the Earth… He is passionate about those kinds of stories.
We are waiting for the continuation of the story, which I have been told is already underway
